Please join us for a very special evening of transcendental sound
featuring Peter Blum on Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, bells, cymbals,
flutes & drums; Master vocalist, violinist and soundshifter Naaz
Hosseini; Evry Mann on drums, percussion, chimes, gong, and West
African harps (Donso Ngoni). And special guests Steve Gorn and Thomas
Workman
Music has been used as transformational ritual in practically every culture
to attune to solstices, equinoxes, and phases of the moon. The duo of
Peter and Naaz have been performing meditational sound baths and
concerts for 20 years, frequently joined by other world class musicians. In
what has become an annual and much anticipated Woodstock event, they
will again be welcoming the light at the time of the Winter Solstice. In this
improvised & “horizontal concert”, it is the intention of the musicians and
listeners to create a sacred space. No two sound baths are alike as the
music is created (some say & “channeled”) in response to the mood, time of
day, season, weather, etc. Participants are invited to lie on yoga mats or
blankets, surrounded by sound-generating stations set up around the room.
Total immersion in a constantly changing vibration field, creates a space
conducive to receive visions, healing, and guidance from within and
without. It is a “ sacred”soundbath because for the musicians, this is akin to
universal prayer with our instruments.
$25 exchange for pre-registration, $30 at the door.
