Sri Vidya is an ancient Indian lineage of Goddess worship and traditional Tantra. This June, senior teachers from Devipuram Ashram and a temple in India will be offering a free experiential and accessible introductory workshop in Woodstock, NY.
This workshop is open to all who feel curious and called to know more about Sri Vidya, devotion, Sri Yantra, and lineage-based spiritual practices. Through mantra, yantra, and sacred ritual, participants will experience the resonant field of the Divine Feminine not as an idea or imagination, but as a current of existence. Sri Vidya does not ask us to renounce or leave our lives behind, but rather to find what is sacred within them.
Devipuram was designed and built by Guruji Amritananda Natha Saraswati in the form of a Sri Yantra. Seekers come from around India and the world to walk through the sacred symbol andpray to the Goddess in Her many forms. It was envisioned as a teaching temple where, regardless of background or gender, all seekers could receive the once-secret and guarded
Sri Vidya teachings. Devipuram remains one of the few places in India where women are allowed and encouraged to perform the rituals, and female priests outnumber the men. We will have the honor of receiving and learning from Rama Amma and Radha Amma, two of Guruji’s daughters, stewards of Devipuram, and Sri Vidya lineage holders. They will introduce us to Devi and offer us a direct, embodied experience of the power of the Sri Vidya practice.
No prior practice or knowledge is necessary.
